Sen. Mitch McConnell released a negative campaign ad Wednesday attacking his GOP primary opponent, Matt Bevin — even though the primary contest is not until May 2014.
The ad hits Bevin for accepting $200,000 in “taxpayer bailouts” — a grant awarded to Bevin’s companies by Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy after a fire destroyed the building that housed the companies, according to a Hartford Courant article cited in McConnell’s ad.
