President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, announced late Saturday that she will be removing her name from the short list for Sen. Marco Rubio‘s (R-FL) Senate seat.

In a statement posted to X, Lara said that “After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many,” she would not seek the seat soon to be vacated after Trump nominated Rubio for secretary of state, a pick expected to be confirmed by the Senate.
