Kevin Warsh, nominated as the next Federal Reserve chairman, is prepared to testify in front of the Senate banking committee for his confirmation hearing on Tuesday morning.
President Donald Trump tapped Warsh to replace Chairman Jerome Powell, whose tenure in the last year has been marked by his adversarial relationship with the president.

The federal investigation into Powell over a $2.5 billion renovation for the Fed headquarters may overshadow Warsh’s hearing. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), who sits on the banking committee, has vowed to block the Trump nominee’s confirmation process over the administration’s treatment of Powell.
The hearing is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
