“Clinton requested a secure BlackBerry while at State, but could not recall why they were unable to provide one,” said the report.
“She was aware President Obama had one and it seemed convenient,” said the report that appeared to stress she wasn’t concerned about security. “Her request was not out of concern for the sensitivity of the information on her then-current device,” her personal BlackBerry, the one seen in a famous photo of her.
Instead, said the report, “Clinton wanted the secure BlackBerry to deal with any future contingencies and thought it would be a good idea to have a secure cell.”
She did not give up her BlackBerry, continuing to use it via her private email server. The documents show that she had malfunctioning devices because aides got her new ones.
