Inventor and philanthropist Bill Gates and activist actress Angelina Jolie are the world’s most admired people, beating out President Obama and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton, who still won the titles as America’s most admired, according to YouGov.com’s survey just posted.
The world survey shows the dominance of the Democratic politicians on the national and world stage and is a sure boost to their agendas — and egos.
“The two towering figures of Democratic Party politics are also the most admired man and woman in the United States,” said the poll analysis.
“Though Hillary has not officially declared her candidacy for the 2016 presidential elections, she is widely considered a favorite to follow Barack Obama into the White House. As this year’s Most Admired survey shows, she enjoys widespread public esteem, both here and abroad,” it added.

The survey polled people in 34 nations and asked who people most admired and also who they truly admired, giving YouGov “the breadth (i.e. global reach) and the intensity of a person’s support, which we regard as both important measures.”
Internationally, Gates and Jolie won with big margins in the male and female category. Behind Gates was Obama, China President Xi Jinping, actor Jackie Chan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Behind Jolie on the world list was Pakistani human rights activist Malala Yousafzai, Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II and first lady Michelle Obama.
On the America’s most admired list following Obama was Pope Francis, Billy Graham, and former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
Following Clinton in the top five were Yousafzai, Obama, Condoleezza Rice and Jolie.
