Pew: Reid has lowest approval rating, even among Democrats

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, who on Friday announced his retirement, had the lowest favorable ratings of all four House-Senate leaders, even among his own party.

Pew Research Center tweeted out their numbers showing that Reid’s favorable rating was just 20 percent, with an unfavorable rating of 41 percent.

That put him at the bottom of the four, with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as the highest at 27 percent favorable followed by House Speaker John Boehner at 24 percent and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at 21 percent.

But those three had good support from their own party compared to Reid.

In the survey from December 2014, just 28 percent of Democrats gave Reid a favorable rating, edging out “unfavorable” just just two points. And independents had a negative view of the long-time Senate Democratic leader, 18 percent unfavorable to 44 percent favorable.
