Before you join in with the ALS “ice bucket challenge” fundraiser, PETA has something they want you to know: Animal tests are involved in fighting ALS.

Ingrid E. Newkirk, the president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has issued her own challenge, of sorts, to those taking the ALS Association offer. Instead of supporting the group founded to fight neurodegenerative disease, Newkirk suggested that people save one of the types of animals used in drug testing.
