The husband of fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates is a top donor to Democrats and former President Obama, coughing up about half of his contributions after his wife was appointed an Obama U.S. attorney in 2010, according to disclosure reports.
Comer Yates, the executive director of the Atlanta Speech School who once ran for Congress, gave $3,355 to Obama’s presidential campaigns.

Yates was fired by President Trump for refusing to enforce his immigration executive orders. Her critics said she sounded political in her opposition to the Trump orders.
Meanwhile, America Rising, the influential conservative group, is seeking details of who Yates emailed and called in the days leading up to her decision to block Trump.
