NRA: Hillary Clinton is great for gun sales, five records hit

Gun sales last month smashed five separate records and the NRA said that a lot of the rush to arm up can be attributed to Democratic frontrunner Hillary Rodham Clinton and her gun ban promises.

As she has stepped up her attacks on guns, four of the five highest sales months in history have been set, said the gun lobby.

In a review of March sales and background check figures, the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action found five shattered records:

  1. The number of background checks conducted in March 2016 was the highest for any March since the inception of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

  2. The 2,523,265 checks topped the previous record for the month, 2,488,842, set in 2013.

  3. March 2016 marked the 10th consecutive month in which the number of checks was the highest for the month in question.

  4. The number of checks for the 12-month period ending March 31, 25,179,245, was the highest for any 12-month period on record and over a half million higher than the number for the previous 12-month high, set at the end of February.

  5. March was the 5th highest month for checks since NICS’ inception, behind December 2015, December 2012, February 2016 and January 2016.

Concluded the NRA, “Thus, four of the highest five NICS months on record have transpired as Clinton has gone from tiresome to shrill in her advocacy of gun control.”
