Christie: World needs ‘A little bit of bluntness’

Declaring that “speeches are hot air,” New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, a potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate, said his style of bluntness and action are needed to build U.S. power and influence overseas.

In a video from from a Thursday town hall in New Hampshire, Christie said the president hasn’t been tough enough with his actions directed at U.S enemies, and believes speeches can get things done.

“He thinks speeches are action. Speeches are hot air. We know what actions are and we’ve seen them,” said Christie.

The governor is famous for his blunt style and suggested it’s time to bring that to the national and international stage.

“You know sometimes I get criticized for acting too much. Sometimes I get criticized for talking and pushing and being too blunt and too direct, but I’ve got to tell you everybody, I think the world right now needs a little bit of directness and a little bit of bluntness and a little bit of strength.”

The video was distributed by his super PAC Leadership Matters for America.
