A former Joe Biden chief of staff who is currently running for Virginia lieutenant governor on Monday one-upped other state Democrats critical of President Trump by calling for his impeachment.
Susan Platt in an email to supporters said, “Just within the past few hours, the Bully-in-Chief doubled down on his unconstitutional plan to ban an entire religion. He obstructed justice in the Russia investigation, profited from foreign governments, and even gave state secrets to foreign leaders. It’s worse than Watergate, and we’ve seen enough.”

While there are no impeachable charges against Trump, his presidency has become a hot issue in Virginia, one of the first states to hold post-Inaugural elections this year.
Another candidate, current Lt. Gov. Frank Northam, has called Trump a “narcissistic maniac.” And his challenger has also begun attacking Trump. A recent poll showed the nation split over impeaching Trump, 43 percent for and 45 percent against.
