Stephen Miller: Joe Biden ‘neck deep’ in Ukraine corruption with son Hunter

A top White House adviser Tuesday charged that Joe Biden was “neck deep” in efforts to help his son make lucrative contacts in China and Ukraine while he was vice president, dismissing claims of innocence by the Democratic presidential candidate and Hunter Biden.

Stephen Miller also raised new questions about the Biden family’s financial ties to foreign governments based on his vice presidency, and called for the Democratic Party to ask Biden, “What do you know, and when did you know it.”

In an interview with Washington Secrets, Miller, the president’s senior policy adviser, charged that China and Ukraine were currying favor with the Obama administration by working with Hunter.

He cited China’s deal with Hunter Biden’s company and Hunter’s board membership with a Ukrainian energy firm.

“Nobody knows the extent to which the Biden family’s finances are tied into foreign countries — there is no preexisting financial relationships here — whose sole plausible nexis for giving the money to the Biden family is to curry favor. There is no other,” said Miller.

Hunter Biden broke his silence on his foreign dealings Tuesday when he said that he “did nothing wrong at all,” but conceded he displayed “poor judgment.” He also promised to stay clear of foreign deals if his father wins the presidency.

Miller dismissed that.

Recalling Hunter Biden’s 2013 trip to China with his father on Air Force Two, Miller said, “Here’s a person who has no conceivable financial, personal, technical, legal or other nexis of any kind to any business that is operating in China or doing business between the United States and China who then gets on Air Force Two and flies to China and … leaves China with a colossal investment in his company.”

He added, “There is no way that Joe Biden isn’t intimately familiar with this. What do they discuss on the plane ride over there? When he asks him, ‘Why are you here Hunter?’ what’s he say, ‘Oh, just to take in the views?’ What do they discuss on the plane ride back? The notion that Joe Biden isn’t neck deep in all of this and no one has asked Joe the hard questions.”

A lawyer said that Biden did not profit from any work in China.

Biden’s dealings in Ukraine made headlines when a call between Trump and Ukrainian president was revealed. In the call the president encouraged the country to investigate Biden’s ties to the energy firm already facing a corruption probe. He separately called for a probe of Hunter Biden’s involvement in China. Democrats outraged at the president’s phone call have started impeachment proceedings.

Referring to Hunter Biden’s China and Ukraine dealings, Miller said, “No serious journalist, no serious human being could possibly think that Joe Biden isn’t completely and totally aware of both what his son is doing and why it’s corrupt and why Joe Biden by definition is intimately part of that corruption. He put him on the airplane to fly him to China. He was the one that gave his son permission to join the Ukrainian board at the same time he was pushing to have the prosecutor fired. That’s on Joe Biden. That’s on him personally.”

Maybe more damning, Miller suggested that Hunter’s dealings in notoriously corrupt Ukraine while his father was vice president amounted to an endorsement by the U.S. of corruption in Ukraine.

“You are basically saying, with a wink and a nod, we are encouraging corruption in Ukraine. How could that otherwise be interpreted?” said Miller.
