Doctors are monitoring Queen Elizabeth II’s health at Balmoral Castle in Scotland after voicing concern for her health.
A statement from the royal palace confirmed that after evaluation, doctors were “considered for Her Majesty’s health” and are placing her under supervision until further notice. The palace states that she is resting comfortably.
Reporters are now stationed outside Balmoral Castle, and five guards are standing outside the gates.
This announcement comes after Elizabeth canceled a meeting with her Privy Council, during which newly elected Prime Minister Liz Truss was set to take her oath.

Over the last few months, the queen’s health, particularly “episodic mobility problems,” has caused her to be absent from several events, including the State Opening of Parliament in May — the first time in 59 years that she missed the event, the Washington Examiner previously reported.
Prince Harry, his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince William are traveling to be by her side, their spokespeople confirmed to USA Today on Thursday.
Truss wrote in a tweet early Thursday that “the whole country will be deeply concerned” by this news and that her thoughts are with the queen and her family.
