White House calls Trump’s attacks on Kamala Harris ‘appalling’

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre slammed former President Donald Trump’s attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris at a Friday press briefing.

“I think it’s gross, I think it’s disturbing, and it’s not OK,” Jean-Pierre said in response to a question about the increased scrutiny of Harris from Republicans, including Trump, after President Joe Biden’s poor debate performance. “[Harris] should be respected in the role that she has as vice president. She should be respected like any other vice president before her who was in that role.”
