Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to be Director of National Intelligence, is walking back a previous position she held about an federal government program that authorizes targeted collection of foreign intelligence information from non-U.S. persons located abroad.

While in Congress, Gabbard was staunchly against the program known as Section 702 in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), but has switched her tune as some senators indicated they wanted to make sure she is supportive of the measure as head of intelligence.
