President Joe Biden, in one of his final acts in the White House, announced a new wave of clemency decisions Friday, commuting the sentences of nearly 2,500 nonviolent drug offenders.

The announcement comes just weeks after the president issued a pardon for his son, Hunter Biden, followed swiftly by another round of clemency, including commuted sentences for 37 of the 40 inmates facing the death penalty. Friday’s move gives Joe Biden more pardons and commuted sentences than any other U.S. president.
