The White House will ask Congress to approve new security funding for the District of Columbia as President Donald Trump intensifies his crackdown on city crime.

In a Wednesday visit to the Kennedy Center, Trump said he would request a “relatively small amount of money” for D.C. public safety as he promised to make Washington “beautiful again.”
