Vance takes lead in defending immigration enforcement after shooting

Vice President JD Vance made a rare appearance at the podium during Thursday’s White House press briefing to mount a passionate defense of Immigration and Customs Enforcement amid growing anti-ICE protests after an officer was involved in a fatal shooting in Minneapolis.

“I’m not happy that this woman lost her life,” Vance said of Renee Nicole Good, the 37-year-old woman who was shot and killed during a clash with ICE officers on Wednesday. “I’m not happy that this woman was there at a protest violating the law by interfering with the law enforcement action.”
