Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said there will be an ad during the Super Bowl that will spotlight “Trump Accounts” immediately following the national anthem to begin the high-stakes game.
Bessent said the Treasury Department is already seeing an uptick in signups but will expect more following the big game.
“Look for the commercial right after the National Anthem at the Super Bowl this weekend,” Bessent said while testifying before the House Financial Services Committee. “We are prepared for a flood of signups.”
The ad is being financed and organized by Altimeter Capital CEO Brad Gerstner and Dell CEO Michael Dell.
Gerstner and Dell first announced the commercial run during the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit last week.
“Should we tip our hand and tell them we’re going to run a Super Bowl ad or not?” Gestner asked.
“I think you just did,” Dell responded.
The commercial will promote the federally backed investment account program that provides babies born between 2025 and 2028 with $1,000 at birth and allows families and others to contribute additional funds over time.
Trump Accounts have been touted by Gestner since 2021. He said the idea came after a discussion with his children about the American wealth gap.
“It comes from a love of country and an understanding that we’re losing that connection to the American dream, and that stops today, today and forevermore,” Gestner said. “Every child born in America becomes a shareholder in America.”
The accounts are intended to promote financial literacy and function as long-term savings vehicles that could later be used for education, housing, or retirement expenses.
The accounts are part of a broader Trump administration push to expand financial inclusion and early childhood savings.
Dell and his wife have championed the savings effort for young people and have pledged $6.25 billion in donations to the accounts. The donation will range from $250 to $25 million to the Trump Accounts.
The Super Bowl will take place Feb. 8 with the Seattle Seahawks taking on the New England Patriots.

The high-stakes game is the most-watched television broadcast in the United States and routinely draws more than 100 million viewers.
Advertising slots tied to the event, particularly those adjacent to the national anthem and kickoff, are among the most expensive and visible on television.
