John Rudat, 21, was an American tourist traveling in Dresden early Sunday when he reportedly stepped in as two women were being attacked by a pair of Syrian men, according to an online fundraiser set up by his brother’s girlfriend, Molly Sheldon. During Rudat’s intervention, he was stabbed in the face allegedly by a Syrian asylum-seeker in Germany.
