Israel responded to alleged missile and gunfire at its troops in southern Gaza on Sunday with strikes and the halting of humanitarian aid into the strip.

An unnamed Israeli security official said aid would be halted “until further notice.” The Israeli government had already been withholding half the number of humanitarian aid trucks originally set to flow into Gaza due to Hamas’s slow release of the deceased hostages.
