France confirmed an Ebola case on Wednesday, marking the first recorded case in Europe since the outbreak began in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in May.
The infected individual is a French humanitarian doctor who had been working in the Congo. Authorities said he was transported to a specialized medical facility equipped to treat highly contagious diseases.
