Its author, Chance Phillips, summed up one result with relief: “Thankfully, on net Democrats are not pro political violence.”

He was describing the only scenario that polled underwater. Asked how they would feel if they woke up to news that President Donald Trump had been assassinated at a rally, 31% of respondents said positive and 43% negative.
