Only cutting entitlements can halt our impending debt crisis
The retirement of the Baby Boom generation is already putting a strain on Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare. Absent action, spending on the big three entitlements is only going to explode in the coming decades as the retired population increases and healthcare costs rise. The U.S. cannot fix its debt problem by taxing the rich, or cutting defense spending, nor through the magical trickery of Modern Monetary Theory. And both political parties refuse to admit this cold, hard truth: only slashing entitlements can save the country.
