The committee will “begin a more public phase of its work in the new year,” according to the Washington Post. That this new year also happens to be an election year is just a happy coincidence, surely. Democrats and President Joe Biden may be wildly unpopular, unable to let the country get back to normal, and struggling with inflation and supply chain issues, but what is really important right now is remembering how Republicans are responsible for a riot that took place about a year ago.
