Every holiday season, Americans send billions of letters, cards, and packages through the mail. A variety of carriers work throughout the season to ensure that these gifts and greetings arrive at their destinations.

Yet despite the United States Postal Service’s prominent place in our lives, and its $15 billion in outstanding debt, politicians rarely talk about how to improve the Postal Service, let alone actually reform it. Even President Trump has thoughts about the Postal Service, which for once actually got people to talk about how to fix it.
