Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has Korea, Iran, and ISIS to deal with. With such a full agenda, it would be easy for him to forget a crucial part of the world, Afghanistan, where things are going poorly and most people don’t realize it.

It would be easy to ignore and continue on the course set by his predecessor, Rex Tillerson, but that would also be a mistake.
