You may have seen signs lately outside of houses, marking them as dens of the liberal tribe. The signs list abstruse, cloying slogans that read like a Hallmark card. Context is everything, though. Each slogan implies support for specific public policies. By using unassailable bromides as code words, the signs imply that anyone who disagrees with or even questions these policies is either ignorant, dumb, venal, or just downright deplorable.
