Texas Republicans auctioned off a copy of “Green Eggs and Ham” signed by Sen. Ted Cruz for $1,000 on behalf of the Republican Party of Bexar County during their annual Lincoln Day Dinner.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, a couple bought the book for their 8-year-old daughter.
