On the latest episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, Oliver ripped into this branch of the sharing economy responsible. We were told that the big players in this space — Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates — are “leeches” that “undermine” the business of brick-and-mortar restaurants. Oliver equated their use of gig workers to slavery.
