How many times must California be the first of the worst before the state’s leaders change course, or have their course changed for them by voters?
For the second year in a row, California has the nation’s highest unemployment rate, with the number increasing to 5.3% from last year’s 4.5%. On top of this, the state is dealing with a debt of $21 billion in unemployment benefits, after Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) used COVID-19 bailout money from the federal government to bribe voters with stimulus checks instead of paying off unemployment claims.
