TWO THUMBS UP: E-mail alert
WHO: Goucher College President Stanford Ungar
WHAT: When allegations of non-stranger sexual assaults involving date rape drugs surfaced, Ungar sent an e-mail to students, warning them of the danger.
WHY IT’S A GOOD IDEA: It’s important for students to realize the risks they face if they choose to party, and it’s equally important for them to know if something as dangerous as date rape drugs makes its way into campus parties. It’s too common a practice to sweep these incidents under the rug — it’s never good for PR when your students are getting drugged and assaulted — so we applaud Ungar for his decision to keep students fully informed.
