George Galloway is ready to deliver whenever Vladimir Putin needs the former British parliamentarian to spew his nonsense. But Galloway’s services are not free.
A renowned champagne socialist who adores the good life, Galloway has shown a remarkable ideological flexibility in prostituting himself for totalitarians. If they offer bundles of cash, Galloway offers an eloquent voice for their propaganda. Galloway has even mastered the art of working for the revolutionary Khomeinist republic of Iran, and being good friends with its former arch-nemesis, Saddam Hussein.

To be fair to the totalitarians, however, Galloway is a far better propagandist than most of those who are willing to appear on their networks.
These days, the high-paying RT and Sputnik duo of Kremlin Western-focused propaganda are Galloway’s bread and butter. And on Tuesday, he produced another golden nugget of Putin disinformation. Referencing a recently leaked audio recording involving Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Galloway declared that Pompeo is planning to weaponize British Jews against Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, another willing Putin stooge.
Galloway’s claims are totally ridiculous — Pompeo only said the U.S. would support Jews against discrimination. But such conspiracies are good fodder for RT. That’s because they make America look bad while presenting Corbyn as an unjustly attacked British patriot (Putin desperately wants Corbyn in power).
Then again, Galloway isn’t as clever as he thinks. In arguing that Pompeo is unfairly attacking Corbyn over the latter’s supposedly false (but evidently real) anti-Semitism, Galloway proves his own anti-Semitism once again. Consider his concluding line: “But ironically the most offensive thing about Pompeo’s secret speech is the cynical weaponization of Britain’s Jewish community to defeat the Labour Party. Nothing could be more hazardous for a religious minority of just 250,000 people than that.”
Think about that line: “Nothing could be more hazardous for a religious minority of just 250,000 people than that.” This is, in fact, a very dark threat against British Jews from a British figure who has repeatedly shown he won’t hesitate to hurt them. In 2005, Galloway famously “weaponized” Islamists against a Jewish parliamentary candidate.
In this context, Galloway’s words cannot be discounted as the simple rant of a prostitute for extremism. They must be regarded as a threat. Alongside Corbyn’s antisemitic record, it should send shivers up decent people’s spines.
