CNN’s Jim Acosta claims Fox News is becoming state TV

Oxford University has just published a one-hour video of a Jan. 31 appearance by CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta at the university’s debating union. In the video, Acosta declares that CNN’s main rival, Fox News, is becoming a state television network.

As Acosta put it, “We’ve seen, you know, sort of the infancy of a potential state TV in the United States of America in Fox. That network primarily serves as a house organ for the [Trump] administration. And it’s one of those painful, uncomfortable truths that we in the press don’t want to get into too much. Because I have friends over there.”

While Acosta hedged his argument by noting that he respects Fox News anchor Shepard Smith, he also lamented that more Fox News staffers do not publicly defend Acosta on Twitter.
