House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, in an afternoon press conference, dismissed the plan being offered by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D- Nev.
“I believe that the plan is full of gimmicks,” Boehner said. “We’re not making any real changes in the spending structure of our government. And it doesn’t deal with the biggest drivers of our deficits and our debt, and that would be entitlements.”
