The growing consensus is that Rick Perry is not bulletproof after the GOP field drew blood in last night’s debate. Perry appeared shaky and unprepared in his responses, but Mitt Romney is the one who gained points from the debate. Surprisingly the biggest post-debate story today appears to be Michele Bachmann’s successful attack on Perry’s HPV vaccination order.

Bachmann took the HPV vaccine issue to the next level by suggesting that it caused mental retardation. Rush Limbaugh suggested that Bachmann ‘jumped the shark’ with that comment.
Ron Paul:
As expected, Paul’s controversial comments about Al-Qaeda did not go unnoticed and a heckler upstaged his answer about a person without health insurance.
Paul supporters are furious that he was never asked about the Federal Reserve when the topic came up.
Rick Santorum:
The Post’s Jennifer Rubin thinks Santorum won last night’s debate and Santorum is already using Perry’s HPV vaccination order in fundraiser appeals.
Newt Gingrich:
Gingrich had a great performance last night and won the crowd with bold statements particularly with his GE moment.
But will he get more support in the polls?
