Brit bookstore:’Mein Kampf’ is ‘perfect’ Xmas gift

It wouldn’t be Christmas without an Adolf Hitler stocking stuffer.

At least, that’s according to Britain’s largest bookstore chain, which promoted the Nazi ruler’s anti-Semitic manifesto ‘Mein Kampf’ as the “perfect present” for the holidays in several of its stores, the Jewish Chronicle reports.

The chain, Waterstone’s, has since apologized “for the offense caused.”

The promotion was first discovered by a Jewish traveling salesman, who noted that a copy of “Mein Kampf” was prominently displayed with a seasonal sticker promoting it as the “perfect present.” (Photo here).

The sticker made clear that the bookstore did not agree with the book, describing it as, “An essential read for anyone seeking to understand one of history’s most despicable figures.”

But according to the Jewish Chronicle, “stores in Manchester, Liverpool and Cheshire have been displaying front covers of multiple copies of the book, a sales technique designed to attract the attention of shoppers.”
