Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell endorses Romney

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, who is also the current chairman of the Republican Governors Association, endorsed Mitt Romney for president this morning. McDonnell told CNBC’s Squawkbox, “My message will be if you want to win the race in November, vote for Mitt Romney,” McDonnell said. “He can win Democrats and independents to our cause. … I think he’s the best leader to get America back on track to create jobs, to get this national debt under control.”

McDonnell is expected to join South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who has also endorsed Romney, for a rally in Charleston, South Carolina this afternoon.
