I got this fundraising pitch from Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst yesterday. He is running for an open Senate seat, and raising money to that end. If you click the links in the email, it asks you to donate to his Senate campaign.
Just a typical fundraising email, right? But look more closely at the “From:” line.

Subject: We need staunch, conservative leadership in Washington

Dear Friend,
President Obama has declared war on the American economy. It’s up to hard-working Americans like you to stop him and take our country back!
Washington is broken. Now, more than ever, we need staunch, conservative leadership in Washington. That’s why I am running for U.S. Senate, and it’s why I need your support today so we can stop President Obama’s relentless assault on our liberties.
The federal fundraising deadline is approaching on September 30th, and we are close to reaching our online fundraising goal. It would mean a great deal to me if you joined my campaign and donated $10, $25, $35 or more to fight President Obama’s liberal agenda and help take our country back.
UPDATE: Dewhurst spokesman Matt Hirsch tells me that it’s a simple case of a vendor shared between Perry and Dewhurst, resulting in the amusing error.
