Romney: Christie prepping for NJ campaign

Former Gov. Mitt Romney acknowledged the possibility that Gov. Chris Christie, R-NJ, might run for president, but suggested that the buzz about a Christie presidential run amounts to Christie trying to “generate interest and support” for his re-election campaign for Governor of New Jersey.

Romney suggested that the media was trying to create “intrigue” with respect to a possible Christie run, but then offered this comment on Christie’s speech at the Reagan Library last night:

“That’s part of his business, of course, which is to generate interest and support for him and for his campaign for reelection ultimately in New Jersey, for his agenda in New Jersey – and who knows, maybe he decides to get in.”
