The House Energy and Commerce’s Oversight and Investigations subcommittee on Thursday announced it was stepping up its oversight of two programs created by the national health care law.
Republicans have criticized the Obama administration’s management of the law’s high-risk pools, which were intended to cover those with pre-existing conditions, but have attracted few enrollees despite spending billions. Meanwhile, a program meant to provide insurance to early retirees has been used to dole out $2 billion to unions and large corporations, as Byron York reported.
