The National Republican Senatorial Committee passes on word that it had a particularly good month in March ($5 million), outpacing its haul in past off-year cycles and posting a first quarter total of $11.2 million. Meanwhile, Roll Call is reporting that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised $11.7 million in the first quarter.
Advantage to the Dems, of course, numerically speaking. But the DSCC traditionally outdoes its Republican counterpart by a much wider margin. In the 2008 presidential cycle, the DSCC raised a total of $163 million to the NRSC’s $94 million take. Things have obviously changed since then.
