Wasserman Schultz: Personhood laws ‘dangerous’

CNS News records DNC chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz angrily denouncing personhood amendments in a conference call with reporters.

“The effort by the far right to pass these so-called personhood amendments–divisive, dangerous, and destructive laws.” said Wasserman-Schultz, “Which would cripple a woman’s right to choose, limit access to birth control, and put the lives of women with difficult pregnancies at risk.”

The left is striking back hard against efforts to put personhood amendments on state ballots in upcoming elections.

This Tuesday, voters in Mississippi will vote on Proposition 26 which would amend the state constitution to define “person” as every human being from the moment of fertilization, cloning or the functional equivalent thereof.
