Bolstered by banner third quarter fund-raising, the campaign of Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, announced a $2.5 million “voter contact blitz” involving various media in an email pushing its final fundraising effort of this quarter.
Paul’s email announced over $1.2 million raised during the “End of the Quarter Push,” ongoing now for several days, and the email set a fundraising goal of $8 million for the quarter. Paul asked supporters to help fund “a hard-hitting $2.5 million voter contact blitz.”
“My campaign is preparing to unleash a series of hard-hitting TV and internet ads,” Paul explained, “as well as a massive phone outreach and targeted voter mail program over the next 30 days.”
Paul has made a strong showing in recent polls, including one that showed he and former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., trailing President Obama by just one point in the battleground state of Florida.
