It's Republicans, not Democrats, fighting on behalf of Title IX

A group of Republican senators has introduced a bill to protect the integrity of women’s sports, showing once again that the GOP cares far more about the proper application of Title IX than Democrats.

The Republican bill would pull funding from any Title IX school that permits biological males to participate in women’s sports. This comes after Education Secretary Betsy DeVos referred seven Connecticut jurisdictions for investigation over their rules on transgender athletes, while Attorney General William Barr defended the civil rights lawsuit against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference.
