House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized in Rome Monday after feeling “slightly unwell,” according Italian news agencies and AFP.
Pelosi is in Italy leading a bipartisan congressional delegation. According to her schedule, she was to meet with Defense Minister Ignazio La Russa and Gianfranco Fini, head of the lower house of parliament, but she was unable to attend those events. The delegation is in Italy to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the country’s unification.
