In an email to supporters, President Obama encouraged supporters to wish Michelle Obama ‘Happy Birthday’ and donate a small donation to his re-election campaign.

“I’m writing because our FLOTUS, Michelle, turns 48 on Tuesday, and I know I’m not her only fan out there.” the email reads, “Will you join me in wishing her a Happy Birthday?”

The link in the email redirects from Michelle Obama’s “birthday card” to a fundraising message.

“The next 10 months will be harder than any we’ve experienced together, and I couldn’t do it without her.” Obama adds, “I know she’d love to hear from you today.”

After signing the email, the campaign sends supporters an email encouraging them to follow Michelle Obama on Twitter.

Yesterday, President Obama raised $2 million in Chicago for his re-election campaign.
