Glenn Beck: Viral Kony 2012 video ‘sounds fishy’

On GBTV yesterday, Glenn Beck brought up the Kony 2012 video, a fast rising viral documentary on YouTube highlighting the crimes of Joseph Kony, demanding justice for the criminal leader of the Christian Liberation Movement.

“The way that this comes out sounds fishy,” said Beck, who noted that Obama was praised in the movie for sending special forces troops into Africa. The GBTV crew discussed the style of the video, noting that similar tactics with progressives, using a crisis to push their agenda.

“This is the way the progressives do it. This is the way Bernays does it,” Beck warned. “This is the way Cass Sunstein does it. This is the way you build a dictator. You get somebody — you get something so outrageous and then you just use it.”

“You watch, Obama will give a speech and say ‘This is so horrible,'” Beck said, adding that the issue was serious, but was being used as a “shell game.”

“Your kids are going to bring you this story,” Beck warned, wondering about the social networking “explosion” that was “targeted to kids” to start a revolution.

“We’re having conversation off the air that I think is important to have on the air and that is, look, I’m not saying this is Obama-funded although you could do ten minutes of work and I’ll bet you you’ll find somebody involved with Soros behind it, but I could be wrong. This isn’t an accusation. This is a warning and — to all Americans: Stay vigilant. Nothing is as it appears.” he concluded.
