Seven Republicans who dissented on payroll tax

Our own Philip Klein, reporting from the Capitol, sends me the names of the seven Republican members of Congress who broke ranks on today’s payroll tax vote:

Charlie Bass, R-N.H.

Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.

Jamie Herrera, R-Wash.

Tim Johnson, R-Ill.

Walter Jones, R-N.C.

Frank Wolf, R-Va.

Chris Gibson, R-N.Y.

For his part, Flake has voiced opposition to the extension of the payroll tax cut in principle, because it deprives Social Security of revenue.
