Why did Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign nearly crash in the opening months? Not because he was running up debt at Tiffany’s, calling Paul Ryan’s plan ‘right wing social engineering,’ or going off on a lavish Mediterranean Cruise, or hawking his books at campaign events.
The problem, according to Gingrich was his campaign staff, who resigned en-masse in protest of his arrogant behavior.
